Donate Convalescent Plasma - a special cancellation released by Goa Postal Division

On August 24 2020, Goa Postal Division released a special cancellation with the the slogan "To eliminate COVID 19, Donate Convalescent Plasma." As the COVID-19 pandemic is showing no signs of abating there is an urgent need to reach those who have recovered to donate plasma. The special cancellation was unveiled by N Vinodkumar, postmaster general, Goa Region, Panaji in a special ceremony conducted at Tapal Bhavan in Panaji.
"There are a number of myths circulating among the public regarding plasma donation and thus we see that the number of recovered patients coming forward to donate is very low.With this endeavour we hope to increase public awareness and hope to motivate people to educate others about the importance of convalescent plasma," says N Vinodkumar.

Sudhir G Jakhere, Sr Supdt of post offices, Goa Division, Panaji says, "It is very important we get recovered patients to donate convalescent plasma." Dr M R Ramesh Kumar, President, Goa Philatelic and Numismatic Society [GPNS] congratulated the Department of Post for releasing this special cancellation and highlighted the vital role played by the Department of Post in spreading awareness of COVID 19.
