Crafts bonanza from Christmas

Due to COVID-19,

rural artists

have been severely affected owing to

lockdowns

,

cancellation

of fairs,

festivals

and collaborations, ban on travel and uncertainty about

future business

.

This is where Banglanatak.com, a social enterprise which specialises in culture and folk art and crafts, has stepped in with a handicraft exhibition and sale at Sadhana Dell’ Arte, in Merces from December 25.

Rural handicraft artists from Rajasthan and West Bengal will be present to showcase their products and explain the process at the venue.

Artists will showcase dhurries and jootis from Rajasthan, bamboo mask, and other items from Bengal.
“We will be following safety protocols while conducting the workshops. This is a good opportunity for Goan artists to learn and expand their skill sets,” says Rajyashree Mukherjee, from the organisation.
