The speaker Anita Jervis, founded the Charles Jervis Memorial Trust, six years after she lost her beloved husband due to Alzheimer's. With first-hand experience as a care giver, she delivered an extensive session on

, she also gave the students situations to address on how a care giver should respond to the needs of an elderly living with dementia.

Alzheimer's disease is a neurological disorder in which the death of brain cells causes memory loss and cognitive decline. A neurodegenerative type of dementia, the disease starts mild and gets progressively worse. It has been reported that there are more than 4000+ people in Goa who have been diagnosed with Dementia.
