Day, a student and public rally was organized by Mission Rabies at Sanguem, on September 28. World Rabies Day is being celebrated as the rabies awareness day throughout the world on the death anniversary of Louis Pasteur who invented Anti rabies vaccine during 1895. All the schools in and around

Sanguem

participated in the rally.
Dr. Baptist, the health officer of Sanguem stressed the importance of washing the

dog bite

wound with water and soap, which is the best first Aid for dog bite. Julie Confmat the project manager of Mission Rabies shared that “Goa is going to be Rabies free in a couple of years due to the continuous vaccination of

dogs

since 2013 by Mission Rabies and by educating students and locals about it. Rabies is a deadly disease. Let us unitedly fight and make the world Rabies free by 2030 as per the World Health Organization deadline.” She adds, “Vaccinate your dogs to kill rabies virus at source, vaccinate yourself if you’re bitten by a dog, avoid dog bite.
