Durga Puja debut at home for priestess
Indologist and priestess Nandini Bhowmick conducted Durga Puja at her Lake Gardens residence for the first time on Tuesday. After conducting the ritual for three years for other Pujo committees, she chose to celebrate it at her ancestral home. Nandini meticulously sourced Pujo essentials for a year, including the water to be offered to the goddess for her bath, collecting it from seas across the country and abroad. “Ma follows the Vishuddha Siddhanta way of conducting Durga Puja. We will also be playing Pujo songs, which were recorded prior to the festivities for goddess,” said Ananya Bhowmick, Nandini’s daughter.
