The reception of Vijender Singh and Delhi girl Archana at Kaluwas village didn’t go exactly as planned – the squall on Wednesday night brought down the tent and made the couple and the guests run for cover. But it didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits.

Dressed in his smart designer sherwani, the boxer looked handsome and happy as he and his bride ran for cover from the rain, with him chivalrously holding the umbrella.Said Surinder Singh, the father of the bride, “Hum bahut lucky hain ki hume itna achha damad mila aur itna achha parivar. Hamari beti khush rahegi.” When asked whether the wedding was arranged or a love marriage, he said, “Arranged marriage thi, hum nau mahine se plan kar rahe the. Dono ek doosre ko jaante the pehle se, lekin nau mahine pehle hi shaadi ki baat pakki ho gayi thi.”
