The duo were assisted by Nabil Khan on sarangi. The 90-minute performance concluded with a rendition of thumri by Sabri, which showcased the trademark pauses and crescendo characteristic of the form.
Arnaud, a French national who was in attendance, said, “This was my first time watching an Indian classical concert and I was blown away by the music. The sarangi is so different from Western stringed instruments and has such a unique and beautiful sound. It was an amazing experience, to say the least.”
