A group of sufi singers – the Niyazi brothers – performed at a lounge cum bar Namche Bazaar recently. A mix of youngsters and middle-aged men and women formed the eclectic audience for this gig. Requests kept pouring in as the guests wrote their favourite songs on paper napkins and passed them on to the group to perform. “I have tried to keep Namche casual.
I don’t want people to think this is a fine dining restaurant, because that’s not what this is. It’s a place where people come to have a drink and relax. We plan to have more such gigs here to attract a young and vibrant crowd,” said
Ashwini Chaudhary, MD of the lounge and bar.
