A break for prisoners: Singer Kumar Sanu, with his 90s’ romantic numbers, was a hit with inmates of the Tihar high-security jail when he performed there recently.
Hundreds of juveniles housed in Jail No 7 clapped along when Sanu sang his famous number “Bas Ek Sanam Chahiye Aaashiqui Ke Liye”. Sanu was accompanied by good friend Bali Brahmbhatt, who entertained the inmates with his popular tracks like “Kem Che” and “Munda Bigda Jaaye”.

The superintendent of Jail No 7, Rajesh Chauhan, organised this musical evening with the help of Sanjay Malik. Joining the two celebrity singers were artistes like Bobby Badshah, Baljeet Deewana, Sangeeta Puri, Arun and master Aakash from Malik’s group. Enjoying the evening with the inmates were Lokesh Chandra, superintendent, Jail No 3, and Raj Kumar, superintendent, Jail No 1.
