Sanjay Sharma might be seen often in the social circuit, but through all his years meeting people in the fashion and style industry, he says, he’d become a workaholic.
After he quit the company he used to work for, he says, he found it hard to give up those habits. “I took a sabbatical, can you believe it?” he says, laughing. “I didn’t think I could do it. I took seven months off – log toh bas kehte hain, maine kar bhi liya! Of that, I spent two and a half in Germany, where both mine and my wife’s parents were.”
His addiction to his phone and email, he says, was one of the habits he found hardest to shake off.

“Germany mein toh maine phone hi chhod diya!” he says. “I just kept a simple phone with a local number, in case dukaan mein biwi ko dhoondhna pade.”
