Rohit Bal's new bag launch
When Fredrik Widell, regional director, South Asia for Oriflame Cosmetics took to the stage for the launch of a designer bag by Rohit Bal, he surprised everyone with his clear Hindi diction.
He said, “Namaskar. Aap sab kaise hain?” and got a loud applause from the audience. Widell spoke about Oriflame’s association with Gudda and the special tote bag, complete with Gudda’s signature lotus motif, which he has designed for the cosmetics major.

Widell even read a note sent by Gudda, who was missing from the do because of his health condition.
He later told us, “I really appreciate our association with Gudda. Fashion and cosmetics are two very important things for a woman and our brand is completely in sync with Gudda’s brand in this respect.”
RAMPAGE: But, as models walked the ramp, everyone spoke about Gudda’s flair for creating magical moments on the ramp. The outfits followed a black and golden colour scheme and reflected decadent royal in every inch of fabric. Sapna Kumar stole the thunder as she came on to the stage. She was dressed in an outfit created by using a bunch of the same tote bags that Gudda has designed for Oriflame. Arunaji, Gudda’s elder sister, later told us that he had been working on the show when he fell ill.
GOOD SHOW, GOOD FOOD: Emcee Nisha Singh was also dressed in the colours of the evening, black and gold. We saw her speaking to Marcus Sandstrom of Oriflame and discussing how well the fashion show went. Arunaji interacted with all the guests at the do and compensated well for Gudda’s absence. His friend Alok Aggarwal told us that Gudda had sent him a couple of messages saying that he wanted to come and attend the event.
