Ravi Bajaj celebrates 25 years in fashion

It was Ravi Bajaj’s turn this time, to celebrate 25 years in fashion. Suneet Varma, who did the same some time ago, told us, “I and Ravi are blood brothers, and it’s strange how everyone is coming to me and saying ‘badhaiyan ho’ even for Ravi’s event.”
There was a short fashion show with Sarah Jane-Dias as a guest, after which Ravi was called on stage, and a short audio-visual of Ravi during the earlier days was shown – and everybody gasped at a pagri-tied Ravi’s picture.He told everyone how it was his dad who pushed him to become a designer.
“During our childhood – My brother Bobby and I would be taken by our dad to this one darzi in old Delhi for our uniform jackets. No matter what it took, it was Mohammed Furkan of Ballimaran who stitched our jackets. And I think that was when I wanted to be a designer,” said Ravi, who also thanked Harish Sawhney, who was his dad’s friend. “He is my godfather. He is the one who told my dad ‘Munde nu jaan deo, kar lega kuch’, and here I am."
