Professors channel Chulbul Pandey and Desi Girl at Lady Irwin College

Continuing the tradition of celebrating Teachers’ Day with a theme, this year too,

Lady Irwin College

celebrated the day with a theme – Filmistaan. While the professors turned into popular characters from different films, the college societies hosted a show to thank their teachers. The students’ union had also planned several interesting games to be played with teachers.

Dabangg

', surprised students with her dance moves while walking the ramp. “I thought of so many characters before finalising this one. I had also thought of dressing up as Ranbir Kapoor’s tapori character from the song 'Tai Tai Phiss', but that would have needed a song in the background, so I chose this character,” said TG Rupa, who was also crowned ‘Mr Filmistaan’.

Pulkit Mathur, assistant professor, also a former student of Lady Irwin College, said, “It is an old tradition of our college to have this kind of a Teachers’ Day celebration where all the teachers let their hair loose and dress up according to the theme. I am dressed as an actress from the ’70s.” The event also saw performances by different societies of the college, including Nrityanjali (dance society) and

(stage play society).
