Poonam Bhatnagar’s exhibition, ‘Between Dreams’, opened at Bikaner House with renowned filmmaker Muzaffar Ali as the guest of honour. Ali praised Bhatnagar's work for its intricate shades, describing it as other-worldly and beyond the ordinary. The exhibition, curated by Uma Nair, showcases 24 acrylic-on-canvas works divided into five segments: ‘Mythos’, ‘Cityscapes’, the ‘Vriksha’ series, ‘Portraits Old and New’, and ‘Shunya’.

Ali, known for films like ‘Gaman’ and ‘Umrao Jaan’, emphasised the significance of Bhatnagar's artistry. Nair revealed that Bhatnagar was inspired by a spider's web in creating layers of illusion in her Mythos series. The artist dedicated long hours, often 15-17 daily, to her paintings between January and April.

The exhibition's large canvasses, such as ‘Saraswati playing the veena’ and ‘Oxford Street’, showcase Bhatnagar's unique technique, which includes fine raised lines resembling a spider's web. Notable among her works are the ‘Pensive Portrait’ series, featuring iconic heroines in black and white.

Samarth Mathur, CEO of Masha Art, highlighted Bhatnagar's meticulous craftsmanship and her ability to blend imagination with reality. Masha Art, known for its flagship gallery in the Taj Mahal Hotel, New Delhi, organised the exhibition, open to the public at Bikaner House from 11 am to 7 pm.
