A clear blue sky with fluffy clouds floating above Humayun's Tomb became the most picture-perfect background for a group of photography enthusiasts who had gathered for a photo walk. Puddles turned into mirrors capturing reflections, and photographers became models. Tapping into the growing passion of Delhiites to join a community of like-minded photography enthusiasts, Delhi Times hosted a photo walk as a part of the #MyCityMyClick campaign, in association with Photo Commune and Photo Walks Mumbai.
Photo walks welcome people from all walks of life
'Homemakers love to join photo walks'"In the past year or so, I have seen a very interesting change. A lot of homemakers are joining us for photo walks," says travel photographer Idris Ahmed, who also hosts photo walks. "These women, who mostly come for morning walks, join us if they like the vibe. They really love their own images. We teach them the basics – like simple composition, how to take better pictures – and try to cover a larger gamut beyond images," he adds.
Jhuma Datta, a photographer from Kolkata who attended her first walk in Delhi, says, "Monsoon is an amazing time to click pictures. You get mirror images in puddles, the wildflowers, champas, the clouds – everything looks pretty. It’s a delight for a landscape photographer."

Burst mode, also called continuous shooting mode, is a feature using which a photographer can take multiple shots continuously in a fraction of a second. The camera takes multiple frames in one second and arranges them in a sequence to analyse the movement. Depending on your camera’s capabilities, you can record 5, 10, 20, or even 60 images per second, and each one offers another opportunity to capture a once-in-a-lifetime action image.

Learning about using burst photography in different settings is something most photographers look forward to. "We’ve done bursts for wildlife, but never in the context of making a story out of it. Photography usually tells a story through stills or video. This falls somewhere in between, so it’s quite interesting," says hobbyist photographer Anupam Kamal.

One of the most important settings for burst mode is the focus mode in digital cameras. You have two main options: single-shot autofocus (AF-S) or continuous autofocus (AF-C). AF-S locks the focus on the first shot and keeps it for the rest of the burst, while AF-C adjusts the focus for each shot based on the movement of the subject.

Smartphone SettingsIn Android devices, tap on "burst mode" or "burst shot" in camera settings. Hold down the shutter button to take multiple photos in quick succession. Release the shutter button to stop capturing photos.
In iPhones, tap and hold the shutter button. The camera will start taking photos in burst mode. You can adjust the burst mode settings in your camera app to customise the number of photos taken. After capturing burst mode photos, you can review and select the best shots in your gallery.
