Live music and a lively audience can go a long way in making a Thursday night seem like a weekend, and that’s what happened at the open mic night hosted at the Striker Pub and Brewery in Gurgaon recently.
The event, a build up for an upcoming rock awards ceremony, saw some talented young musicians surprise the audience.
WHAT’S IN A NAME? The night also threw up some very interesting bands – like the one that was named Mucus and Phlegm, and another that was formed 24 hours before the gig by members of the band Local People.

Host Luke Kenny tried his matronly best to bring down the noise level during the performances, but couldn’t help joining the chorus himself when one of the guests, Parul, sang “In Your Head” for a free goodie!
