Of sparkling jewels & wine

A RAINY BRUNCH: The sudden downpour almost did threaten to play spoilsport, but it seems that there were pleasant times in store for the Mumbai-based hosts of this weekday brunch in Delhi.
Vikram Raizada, executive director of Tara Jewels and Mehernaaz Dhondy, editor, Grazia magazine, were certainly in for a treat when the weather turned pleasant, giving the guests ample opportunity to lounge about in the outdoors during this afternoon of sparkling wine and jewels.
Tete-A-Tete: As conversations and wine flowed freely, Vikram and Mehernaaz were seen discussing jewellery and fashion trends. Vikram said, “Delhi is a big jewellery and luxury market and we are very pleased to be in the city. The urban woman is very smart about her choices when it comes to selecting jewellery and we see some very interesting trends surfacing. There’ll be a lot coming from Tara Jewellers here.”
CATCHING UP: We spotted Sunil Sethi, engrossed in a deep conversation with designer Nida Mahmood (freshly tanned from her European holiday) and Anupama. Artist Anjanna Kuthiala was dressed in all white and told us that the weather warranted the summery look. Kuthiala, who is working on two back-to-back exhibitions, said, “It’s good to lift the weather’s spirits also at times and that’s what I am doing!”
MOTHERS AND DAUGHTERS: Of course it’s good to bring your own company along, and that’s what many of the guests at this do did. While designer Raakesh Agarvwal was seen with friend Piyush, designer Niki Mahajan turned up with her daughter Suhani, and choreographer Liza Varma was with her daughter Vidya. Jatinn Kocchar was spotted with wife Gunjan. Even Neeru Kumar, who is rarely seen at social dos, turned up with her friend Julie.
