Michael, who was dressed in a white kurta, said, “I love Indian wear, specially the kurta-pajama.It’s comfortable and totally apt for the weather! Also, it’s perfect to hide all the flab – you can wear it and look slim! I also love the fact that this outfit is simple and elegant. I’ve seen the jazzier versions too, with all the embroidery and stuff. But I like it simple.” Eliese, who looked happy with the response to the exhibition, said, “I’m glad that people are loving the collection. I know it’s all about elections these days in Delhi, but art lovers can definitely take some time out for an exhibition.”
Fantastic figurines: Alka Pande, curator and art consultant, said, “The human figuration is really beautiful and contemporary. In India, we generally have sculptures of gods and godesses. But here, these Berlin artists have carved human bodies. It’s interesting to see for yourself the artwork that you generally read about in books,in front of you. I wish they were not kept inside glass cases, though!” While people went about looking at the sculptures, some of the guests were heard discussing the weather in Delhi.
