MHRD-SPARC project on future of earth inaugurated by JMI VC

Jamia Millia Islamia Vice-Chancellor Najma Akhtar inaugurated the MHRD- SPARC (Scheme for Promotion of Academic and Research Collaboration) project sanctioned to Department of Electrical Engineering, JMI on Future of Earth: Green and Renewable Technologies recently.

Jamia Millia Islamia Vice-Chancellor Najma Akhtar inaugurated the MHRD- SPARC (Scheme for Promotion of Academic and Research Collaboration) project sanctioned to Department of Electrical Engineering, JMI on Future of Earth: Green and Renewable Technologies recently. The research project is in collaboration with Department of Energy Technology, Aalborg University, Denmark.

Ahteshamul Haque, Principal Investigator(PI) of MHRD –SPARC project briefed the audience about the project and other academic and research activities carried out at Advance Power Electronics Research Lab of Department of Electrical Engineering, JMI. Haque also introduced foreign PI Dr. Huai Wang from Aalborg University to the audience.
Haque informed that SPARC project is sanctioned under thrust area of Action Oriented Research under sub domain of Future of Earth: Green and Renewable Technologies. Prof. Z. A. Jaffery, Head of the Department, Electrical Engineering, JMI informed about the research activities going on in the department.

Prof. Huai Wang, in his address spoke about the reliability issue in research of power electronics used in renewable energy and congratulated Dr. Haque and Department of Electrical Engineering for developing state of the art lab in just six years. Akhtar specially talked about the efforts of the PhD students K VS Bharath and Mohammed Ali Khan working on the project. These students will be visiting Denmark for the research work related to the project. She further said that Indian students have great potential to contribute in research and development work.
