Manthan celebrates World Theatre Day

One the occasion of World Theatre Day, the whole world witnessed the flourishing colours of Manthan as street theatre performances were performed at nine locations of Delhi, 18 national locations and seven international locations.

To keep the essence of this art form alive, Verve- the street play society of Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies, has been organising Manthan - India's largest street play festival. On February 23, the capital witnessed Manthan Mahotsava - a grand celebration of street theatre where around 900 artists of 44 distinguished teams performed street plays to raise a message of social awareness in 17 prominent locations including Qutub Minar, Humayun's Tomb, Red Fort and Hauz Khas Village.

Some of the topics were privacy, homosexuality, suicide, disability, mental health, fascism, poverty and human trafficking.
