Lara’s good work

Lara Dutta (TOI Photo)Actress Lara Dutta might not have been seen on the silver screen for some time now, but she has been keeping up the good work, at least in the area of women���s empowerment.
She came down to Delhi to attend an event organised by the UN and Dolly Thakore, and was accompanied by yesteryear actresses Tanuja and Zohra Sehgal.
Lara has been a UN ambassador for many years and said that she was glad she was given that responsibility.���I was only 21 years old when I was crowned Miss Universe, and given the responsibility of working on AIDS and women���s empowerment.
Back then, I felt that I was too young and wondered whether or not I would be able to handle it, but now that I���m older, I feel that time is running out. There���s very little time and so much to do!��� Admirable sentiments, Lara!
