Designer Karan Raj recently showcased his bridalwear collection, named Aagaz, which means ‘beginning’ in Urdu, at a fashion week backed by the Karnataka government, in Bangalore, recently. The collection was inspired by old monuments of Agra and Delhi, with Mughal references, and was done with pure hand work, intricately designed. Karan says that India is a land of colours, which signifies joy.Also seen at the event was designer Asif Shah’s vibrant and colourful collection of Indian-wear, which was inspired by the Bhopal carvings from palaces. His red carpet collection was inspired by the Italian Mafia, showcasing tuxedos and power dressing. The showstopper for Asif was Waahiid Ali Khan, who wore a tuxedo. Waahiid, a serial entrepreneur, has won many awards nationally and internationally for his contribution to the fashion industry. Bangalore’s fashion guru Prasad Bidapa organised this fashion event.
