Golfer Jeev Milkha Singh is currently on a break to spend some time with his family. When we caught up with him at the recent unveiling of a documentary series in Delhi, the 42-year-old revealed that he was happy with the fact that Farhan Akhtar is reprising the role of his father, Milkha Singh, for the movie Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. “I have met Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra.
I am happy that a movie is being made on my father. It makes me feel great that Farhan is playing the role. I haven’t seen the rushes of the film but I have full faith in the team of Rakeysh, Farhan and Prasoon Joshi,” he told us, adding that even though he is a sportsperson, he is a huge movie buff.
Are the rumours about him associating with R Madhavan for a golf movie true? “Right now, my focus is on playing. There are no plans to making a movie. Having said that, I would love to see a movie being made on golf. A golfer’s career begins at 40 and I am 42 now. I want to represent India at the 2016 Olympics where golf will make a debut,” he added.
