The Delhi crowd was in for a treat when Indian Ocean performed recently at a swish cafe in town. The venue overflowed with music lovers who cheered for the band late into the night. The huge rush at the venue was witness to the growing popularity of Indian Ocean among Delhi’s music scene.Though the venue was jam packed with people, it was mostly guys and only a few girls at the event.
We spotted Shivali and Anusha entering the venue, and when asked if they really enjoyed the rock music, they candidly replied, “Oh, our boyfriends are inside and they have asked us to accompany them. I’m not much concerned about who’s playing.” Most of the girls present at the venue kept close to their partners, enjoying their company much more than the music being played.
However, the guys went crazy while the band played. Kapil, who is a die-hard fan of rock said, “Indian Ocean is the last word when it comes to the Indian music scene. Nobody makes better music. They are gods for me.”
The crowd grew restless when the band suddenly stopped playing in between for a few minutes. While some thought it was a technical error, others jumped to the conclusion that someone had collapsed on stage. Turned out, it was the bassist of the band who had been gifted a brand new bass guitar at the venue, and he took the opportunity to take a break, keep aside his regular guitar and try out the new one!
