After many television serials and books, it was the turn of theatre artiste Shivani Wazir Pasrich to be inspired by the epic Mahabharat. She translated the essence of Draupadi and depicted it in a contemporary version on stage. As the curtains went down on this performance, Shivani also hosted an after-party!
CHATTY AT THE PARTY: When Shivani told Neelam Pratap Rudy that her saree matches the interior of the venue, Neelam was amused, “Oh! Really? Kuch zyada hi matching ho gayi yeh toh.” Apart from that, social networking is something that kicks off most discussions these days.
“I use Facebook as Twitter; just like people tweet every few hours, I do the same on Facebook, and believe me, it’s fun to read reactions on my taglines,” Neelam was heard saying.
BEHIND THE STAGE: We got talking to the cast of the play. “Yaar, we wanted someone to kick us and slap us and keep us on our toes, to work,” said Sanjit Bedi (one of the actors), while greeting his long time friends Sumeet and Gitanjali Nair. “And Tina Johnson, the director, who was called all the way from a foreign country to come and direct us, was fabulous,” said Charu Shankar.
