What happens when Flamenco meets Rajasthani folk? The evening was the brainchild of Gustavo de Aristegui, the ambassador of Spain to India, and Gaj Singh, and was part of the Flamenco and Gypsy Music Festival. Gaj Singh said, “This festival is solely to provide a platform to our folk musicians, who are otherwise unrecognised.” Aristegui added, “This co-operation is astonishing; it is an example of thinking out of the box.
We’re trying to bring two different forms of music together. We’ll see the biggest names of Flamenco perform in India in the future.”
