Fresh face hunt at Amity

The Clean & Clear Delhi Times Fresh Face 2010 auditions in Amity University
Fresh face hunt at Amity
Now this is what we call a roaring response. When the Clean & Clear Delhi Times Fresh Face 2010 auditions started in Amity University, emcee Kanishk said, “We have no less than 500 registrations.”
Believe it or faint – counting the online registrations on www.itimes.com and on-the-spot entries, there was a humunguous response. And as Kanishk started rattling off the names, the fuchchas started coming on stage for the introduction-cum-talent round.
1x1 polls
Akansha, the first contestant, went on and on with her intro, to which Kanishk said, “Aapki naukri ki arzi hum zarur puri karenge.” Samiksha showed some karate steps and Kanishk was quick to add, “Vaise toh main haseenaon ka pagal deewana hoon, par aapko dekhke mujhko paseena aa gaya.” Priyanka proved that big dhamakas come in small packages. As she came on stage, she said, “Hello. How are? Khaana khake jana, haan.” Sahil declared, “Mujhe gana gana nahin aata par main phir bhi gaunga. Kyunki main confident hoon.” He sang “Chahe Koi Mujhe Junglee Kahe.” Siddhanth showed off his ultra cool attitude when he did a pole dance – without a pole, of course.
STRUM IT UP: This was also a day for the guitarists. Utsav Khurana wooed everyone with his guitar rendition of “Ru-ba-ru”. Arihant had the crowd singing as he hit the notes of “Gulabi Aankhen”. Aniket had everyone in splits as he played the guitar and sang his own composition, “Dekho Dekho Yeh Kya Ho Raha Hai, Ghar Ke Bahar Ek Doggy Ro Raha Hai.” Sikriti was an instant hit as she played and sang the Cranberries’ number, “Zombie”. Sonakshi also won applause as she showed her talent at playing the guitar and singing.
SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE? One look at the young girls across colleges and you’d know that hips certainly don’t lie. Almost every girl who came on stage offered to belly dance. And man, did they dance! The quirky DJ Sumit Sethi also got a chance to play his fave songs to his heart’s content. He had the fuchcha bachchas dancing to numbers like “Laal Chhadi Maidan Khadi”, ‘Udein Jab Jab Zulfein Teri”, “Mehbooba Mehbooba” and other old numbers. Ankit Sahani was brave enough to declare that although he didn’t know how to dance, he’d do a mujra. And he promptly took out a 100-rupee note, clenched it between his teeth, and started dancing to “Kajra Mohabbat Wala”.
HUMEIN JAWAB CHAHIYE: When it came to the Q&A session with the judges, and Radio Mirchi RJs Anant and Saurabh, the fuchchas showed as much pizzazz as they had shown during the talent round. When Sahil was asked what he’d do if he were being stalked by a girl, he said, “That happens all the time. And if the girl is nice, I wouldn’t mind it.” Sanyam was asked what he would do if he were invisible for a day. “I’d be like Edward Cullen, the vampire, and do stuff that I can’t do right now,” he said. Sanjana, when asked what she’d do if she found that her boyfriend was cheating on her with one of her male friends, said that she would “kick him hard”. Sanyam and Sanjana were declared the winners. Akash chose the colour blue to paint the universe. “The colour of Team India is blue,” he said. Akash and Sunaina were declared the 1st runners-up. Vaibhav and Ankita were declared the 2nd runners-up.
