Exposition of contemporary Indian art in Delhi
India on Canvas, in collaboration with Gallery West End are presenting the Anand-A-Raas and Détente Art Show, which is being held at the Travancore Palace in Delhi. This exquisite celebration of artistry, creativity, and cultural diversity commenced with a VIP preview that was hosted on May 1.
The preview evening of the exhibition saw over 150 guests including the founding members of Khushii, Kapil Dev in attendance, with guests of honour including Aman Nath, Rekha Purie, Mukul Rohatgi, Former Attorney General of India, Mr. Amitabh Kant, Formas well as Isha Jajodia and Roshini Nath. The event commenced with the lighting of the lamp by all the guests, followed by brief welcome remarks and speeches by all.
Following the welcome speeches, the showcasing artists were invited to brief the audience about their respective pieces, including Douglas John, Deveshi Goswami, Umika Mediratta and M. Narayan. Post this, the guests were welcomed for an art walkthrough, offering an unparalleled journey into the depths of artistic wonder. The audience directly engaged with the artworks and the artists, while getting the opportunity to observe the artistic process up close, and were also invited to acquire the works to adorn their personal spaces.
“This art show is an exquisite showcase of contemporary Indian art. We are thrilled to be showcasing the works of talented artists from around India, each piece resonating with its unique charm and narrative. Sumer Raj Chadha, the propelling founder of Gallery West End expresses “This exhibit is a tribute to a true art aficionado and a fervent connoisseur of beauty, late Santosh Raj Chadha, my beloved grandmother. I wish to continue to honour her legacy."
