Embassy of Greece launches its Movie Club

After introducing the Greek cuisine beyond the Greek salad to Delhiites, the Embassy of Greece has now launched its Movie Club. On the occasion of International Greek Language Day, the embassy in collaboration with the Indo-Hellenic Friendship League launched its Movie Club with the movie, Chevalier.

"About a year ago, members of the Indo-Hellenic Friendship League had a great idea about starting a movie club in the embassy. Finally, we put this together and there are many movies that we want to show. We hope to organise this 'Movie Night' every month," shared Ismini Panagopoulou, First Counsellor for Political and Cultural Affairs, Greek embassy.

She added that many people don't know what modern Greek cinema is about. "Some of our movies have won awards on international platforms so we want to show that to you."

Talking about the movie that the embassy chose for the first movie night, Ismini said, "Chevalier is a movie about buddies and it shows male domination and competition."

She concluded by saying, "On behalf of our ambassador (Aliki Koutsomitopoulou), we welcome you and hope you will enjoy the movie."

Friends from other embassies, critics, colleagues from the Greek embassy and members of the Indo-Hellenic Friendship League also joined the screening of the movie at the embassy.
