Welcome monsieur: Designer Ravi Bajaj and Latika Kohli threw a bash to welcome Jaime Nualart, Mexican ambassador to India. Now, at times, names of people from other countries can be like tongue twisters, so we asked Jaime to bail us out of the situation and help us pronounce his name correctly. And he promptly gave us his visiting card, but told us to turn it around.
Interestingly, the ambassador has got his name printed in Hindi at the back of the card. “People usually pronounce my name as Jay-mee, when it is supposed to be pronounced Khai-mee. So, I got it printed like this,” he said. What a cool idea, sirji!
Hola, hola: Latika, speaking fluent Spanish, welcomed the many Latin American ambassadors at the do with a zealous ‘Hola!’ We were amazed at her ease with the language and asked her how she knows it so well. It was when Latika told us she’s the honorary consul general of Guatemala that we understood why she does. Later, we saw her sharing a few jokes with Alberto Ruy Sanchez and Julian Andres Paez A.
Playing the good host: Ravi went around introducing himself to the diplomats. Jatin Das came and after a while, sauntered towards Ravi and Sheetal Ansal. Meanwhile, Ritu Dalmia too came to ensure that guests enjoyed the
various appetisers.
