They said that this party may not topple the government but it will definitely topple your minds. The fashion brand, Diesel, announced the official launch of the Diesel store through a launch party called the Diesel Democratic Party, at Lap, Hotel Samrat, in the city recently, and did just that. Happy-go-lucky: The party kept reminding the guests that they can bribe anyone to party with Diesel moolah flowing freely over cocktails, canopes and conversations.
As everyone warmed up at the bars grooving to DJ Gordon Edge’s (who was specially flown in from UK) music, brand’s exclusive fashion show kickstarted that grabbed many eyeballs with quite an exciting showcase, followed by a special screening of the Diesel Island anthem – a hilarious sing-along anthem that was perfect to celebrate the spirit of the new found island. And if all the fake moolah wasn’t enough, the official haircut of the party called the Mohawk was a highlight too.
All fun: Darshan Mehta, president & CEO, Reliance Brands Limited, said, “The launch of a democratic party from Diesel was an idea specially conceived for the capital city. Let’s just say it was Diesel’s own way of being politically correct. The Diesel Democratic Party (DDP) as we call it, was just a pre-cursor to the next big thing from Diesel. I am sure Delhi now awaits, along with the rest of us, to claim their rightful place at the promised land – The Diesel Island. It’s not work. It is pure unadulterated fun.” When we met Navneet Kalra and asked him about his new look, he smiled and replied, “Arre, main Tirupati gaya tha darshan ke liye... isliye yeh look hai.” We were looking for Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh throughout, as they were also expected at the party, but didn’t show up. Hope aal izz well!
