Delhi Art Society Hosts ‘Samanvaya’ Exhibition and Catalogue Launch at India International Centre
The Delhi Art Society, in collaboration with the India International Centre, hosted the exhibition and catalogue launch of Samanvaya: Line · Colour · Form – Dialogues in Contemporary Indian Art. The show is curated by Jyoti A Kathpalia and brings together diverse voices in contemporary practice.
The catalogue was released by Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, in the presence of noted artist Rameshwar Broota. Addressing the gathering, the Minister spoke about the need to strengthen the ecosystem for contemporary art and sculpture in India. He noted that sustained efforts are required for Indian art to secure a stronger global presence.
He also acknowledged Neeraj Gupta for his continued support for artists and his role in promoting contemporary practices. Gupta said the Society remains committed to presenting meaningful artistic voices.
Curator Kathpalia said the exhibition reflects both personal expression and shared concerns. She noted that while each artist has a distinct style, the works come together to form a wider dialogue.
The exhibition features works by 25 senior artists from across India, spanning painting, printmaking and sculpture. Among them, Aashima Mehrotra explores abstraction and texture, Shruti Chandra Gupta presents layered narratives, and Anju Kaushik focuses on emotional expression through colour.
