Day 3 of the ongoing Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2015 in Delhi

While Rajesh Pratap Singh’s front row mingled in the pre-show break, a bunch of people silently took their specially created seats on the ramp (the rows of people you see in the picture above).
When the identity of this uniformed bunch of people remained unknown till the end of the show, one could tell they were craftspersons of the design trade, thanks to the video playing in the backdrop.
After the show, we asked Rajesh about them, and he finally revealed, “They were my colleagues. These are people I work with every day in our factory.” These members of Rajesh’s team later told us that they worked at Rajesh’s Faridabad factory with him. They say they’ve always been present, behind the scenes, at all of the designer’s shows, but this is the first time they were in the spotlight. “Bahut achha laga aise sabke saamne aake. Rajeshji ke saath hum bahut saalon se hain, toh unhone humein bola aise to hum maan gaye.” A member of their team, Rathiji, as he was called among the team, walked the ramp to loud applause.
Day 3 of the ongoing Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2015 saw designer Rajesh Pratap Singh showcasing his collection – a tribute to his love for denim. Ditching the usual runway fare of glam and Bollywood celebrities, he had a new group on the ramp – his production team.
