Stand-up comedy at a bar! Watching a stand-up comedy show in a bar is something Delhi is warming up to. And if the enthusiasm among the audience at the comedy show, Coyote Ugly, held at Fio Cookhouse and Bar recently, is anything to go by, then the future of such shows seem bright. Everything can be funny:
Shantanu Anam and Farhad Colabavala cracked jokes on everything from Punjabis, Parsis, Delhi versus Mumbai, Bollywood and our beloved stars of B-Town.
They also took potshots at the guests and even ridiculed themselves. They were later joined by Dhruv Sachdeva and Clifford Afonso, the other two members of their group as they sang songs, rapped and engaged the crowd in games to get them laughing.
It teaches you about the culture: Patty, from Manhattan, New York, found no difference between comedy shows back home and this act. “Any stand-up comedy act tells you a lot about the culture of a place. So, I learnt a few things about Indians and Delhi today,” she said.
