'Bahut achha laga dekh ke ki policewale bhi shayari karte hain'Ajay Chaudhry, Joint Commissioner, New Delhi Range, whose father Ram Singh established the Amir Khusro Foundation, said, "Since my father is old, he could not come today. This is an annual event that we organise to encourage Indian classical and Sufi music. We also honour those who work in the field of art and culture, or contribute to the society with their work."

Ram Kripal Yadav, Minister of State for Rural Development, was the chief guest for the evening, along with Najeeb Jung, former Lieutenant Governor of Delhi and MP Meenakshi Lekhi. Chaudhry, who began the event with his shayari, was applauded by Lekhi. "I was impressed by all the achievers here, but I was really impressed by Ajay Chaudhry. Achha laga dekh ke ki policewale bhi shayari karte hain," she said.

started their performance with 'Allah Hu', and went on to sing '

Khwaja Mere Khwaja

'. The Sufi group also entertained requests from the audience, which included the recent hit 'Mere Rashke Qamar'. "Ab kuch naya suna dete hain, yeh bachche itni der se jhel rahe thay humein," remarked Ustaad Chand Nizami before singing 'Rashke Qamar'.
