Bina Ramani’s quirky bazaar for friends

Bina Ramani’s quaint abode near Garden of Five Senses has been popular among her friends, who love to hang out in the open, green space in the winter. So the designer thought it might be a good idea to also give them a chance to shop while chilling over drinks and some delicacies. Bina hosted a pop-up flea market at her residence recently and invited her friends over to set up stalls and spend some quality time with each other.“This is the second time that I have done this in association with the NGO People Against Rapes in India (PARI). We got a very good response the first time and this time again, I thought this is the perfect weather to host something like this. It’s good to see everyone come here and have a good time shopping, drinking and chatting,” said Bina.

Among her friends who had set up stalls was Sapna Kumar. Sonalika Sahay, who was one of her shoppers, joked, “I just bought some jewellery from her and now I am broke.” We also spotted Manish Arora chilling with his friend Malini Ramani. “This happens to be on the same day when AR Rahman is performing in the neighbourhood and a few guests were stuck on the road outside. But the good part is that the sound of the rehearsal (sufi songs) that we can hear is the perfect background music for us,” said Bina.
