Despite the rains, the post-Independence Day celebration at Striker Delhi recently saw a large crowd turn up.
Ashwini Chaudhary wished everyone a happy Independence Day and said, “There was no better way to celebrate this occasion than with thunderous loud music with south band Avial and performers like Valentine Shipley and Rohit Kulkarni.”
When asked the meaning of their name, Avial lead singer Tony John said, “The name of the band is the name of popular dish in Kerala.

The band has devised its own flavour of music which we call Alternative Malayali Rock. I’m sure Delhi audiences have enjoyed listening to us, and it’ll be nice to see more regional bands performing in the capital.” Sure – if they all do a ‘lungi dance’ like yours, Tony!
