It was quite warm inside Smoke House Grill, actually. Things were definitely heating up. There was a heavy rush outside the gate, everyone wanted to get in, you see. But the foodies were not aware of any of this, lost blissfully amid wafting aromas as they were. And those in love with music were also scorching the dance floor.

Percussionist Jonqui kept everyone on their feet playing those 11 instruments, which included the Nagara. “Nagara is the traditional instrument of Assam. It is used only in religious functions there, but here it is making people dance in a disc, isn’t that amazing?” asked Jonqui, who had come there all the way from Mumbai to be part of the evening. Keeping up with Jonqui’s beats was DJ Cheenu. “I feel very comfortable coming to party here. I remember, a few months ago I was here with my German friend. That was my first visit to Delhi. Now I have lots of friends in Delhi and when they brought me here, I was quite thrilled,” said Sophia from the UK. Shiv Karan Singh came late.
