On Friday, Delhiites witnessed the visual spectacle of dance and interactive video coming together. The performance was by the French contemporary dance production Pixel. Founded by Mourad Merzouki and produced and interpreted by Compagnie Käfig, the French hip-hop dance troupe performed the production at the Kamani Auditorium as the first stop of Alliance Française Tour 2023.
With pixels used as droplets, moving objects and an extension of the choreography, the show effortlessly combined video, contemporary dance, hip-hop, circus acts, and world music.
“We are here to showcase the power of dance as a universal dialogue, capable of bringing cultures and generations together through live performance. The India Tour 2023 is a testament to dance’s crucial role in society, providing a unique opportunity to demonstrate its significance on a global stage,” said founder Mourad Merzouki.
