Day five of the Amazon India Fashion Week saw Ashima-Leena showcase their collection, Tomorrow’s Tribe, which was a mix of different fabrics, prints, tribal jewellery and fringes and tassels. Embellishments were used sparingly and printed pleats were a highlight. The jewellery was stitched on to the bandanas, which completed the boho-chic look. The finale of the fashion week was a grand one, quite literally, as 25 designers got together to celebrate the 25th edition of the India Fashion Week with a one-of-a-kind, unprecedented show.
The Kutle Khan Project kept the guests entertained with their music, as they waited for the show to begin.
The designers who participated in the finale, with the theme Crafts of India, included Abraham & Thakore,
Amit Aggarwal,
Anamika Khanna, Aneeth Arora,
Anju Modi, Ashish Soni,
Gaurav Gupta,
JJ Valaya,
Manish Arora,
Manish Malhotra,
Monisha Jaising, Namrata Joshipura, Pankaj & Nidhi, Raghavendra Rathore, Rahul Mishra, Rajesh Pratap Singh, Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna, Rina Dhaka, Ritu Kumar, Rohit Bal, Sabyasachi, Suneet Varma, Tarun Tahiliani, Varun Bahl and Wendell Rodricks.
The 25 looks ranged from western to Indian, and were in shades of crimson, red, pink or orange. The show started with the Western and fusion designs and gradually moved towards elaborate Indian outfits, with each designer bringing their own style to the ramp. The mood on the ramp when most of the designers came out to take a bow was nothing short of festive, with lots of dancing, hugging and pats on the back.
