At a Sunday morning session at a literary meet in Kolkata, bestselling author
Durjoy Datta offered a candid take on modern relationships and the evolving culture of digital romance. Reflecting on how technology has reshaped intimacy, Datta observed that while dating apps have revolutionized the way people connect, they often make meaningful connection harder to sustain. “Slowly, people are moving away from dating apps because they have realised how exhausting they can be. The apps are getting better and better and they actually don’t want you to fall in love. They are making it easier for you to talk to more people, but difficult to make a choice. I will be very surprised if dating apps do not incentivize dating over love,” said Datta.
