Cultural evening celebrates Rabindrasangeet tradition
An evening of Rabindrasangeet was held recently to celebrate the birth anniversary of singer and teacher Mandira Mukhopadhyay. The event featured solo performances by Mukhopadhyay, along with renditions by her son and a student chorus, honoring her legacy as a disciple of Suchitra Mitra.
An evening of Rabindrasangeet was organised on Sunday at a city auditorium to mark the birth anniversary of singer and teacher Mandira Mukhopadhyay. The programme brought together music lovers and members of the cultural fraternity. A disciple of the late Suchitra Mitra, Mandira has continued to engage with the tradition through performance and teaching.

The evening which was hosted by Srovonti Bosu Bandyopadhyay featured mostly solo renditions by Mandira, including Aji Bijon Ghore, Kolkahol To Baron Holo and Dure Kothay. Performances by her son Arnabneil Mukherjee and a chorus by the students were also part of the programme.Among those present were Subodh Sarkar, Satinath Mukhopadhyay, Minakshi Sinha, Rabin Mukhopadhyay and Madhubani Chattopadhyay.
