Kolkata restos see rise in sales and footfall on V-Day
Valentine’s Day is about much more than just roses and cards – it’s the ideal excuse for a romantic dinner, a lively get-together with friends, or simply indulging in great food and drinks. For restaurants and pubs, it’s the perfect chance to dial up the charm, welcome in the lovebirds, and see sales soar. Here’s what F&B stakeholders had to say about this year’s Valentine’s Day success…
A flock of lovebirds and celebrations
Valentine’s Day saw restaurants come alive with energy as guests flocked in to celebrate the occasion. Tables quickly filled up, and reservations were in high demand. “We were completely full for dinner, with bookings confirmed five days in advance. Even lunch was busy,” said Saloni Jhunjhunwalla, partner at Boujee House. Manish Sharma owner of Desi Lane said, "We saw a significant surge from 7 pm onwards, extending into the late hours."

“Families to mother-daughter duos – everyone found a reason to gather at the restaurant,” shared Manish K Pandey, business head of The Dockyard Co. Aditya Agarwal, unit head at Bombastic- Supper Club added, “The majority of our guests were young couples, between 25 and 35.”

Red roses, exclusive menus & music set the perfect mood
When it comes to setting the perfect mood, you can’t go wrong with the timeless charm of red and a touch of live music. “We kept the theme classic and greeted each guest with a rose,” said Manish. Cocktails and desserts also captured the spirit of Valentine’s Day. As for the vibe? “The DJ curated an eclectic playlist, ranging from techno, commercial hits, and hip-hop, to love songs and Bollywood beats keeping the energy high,” added Aditya.
