Sanjoy Mukherjee, IPS, Director General of Fire & Emergency Services, Govt. of West Bengal, presented the prizes. The occasion was also graced by Atri Bhattacharya, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Dept. of Sundarban Affairs, Govt. of West Bengal.
Speaking on the occasion, Sanjay Karmakar, Manager of Operations at the club stated, "Here we always host innovative events for our patrons, setting us apart from others. The Calcutta Classic Challenger is an annual event at Princeton Club, but the pandemic disrupted this popular quiz for the past four years. We are thrilled to resume it this year, with quiz master Abhijit Banerjee, who has more than 50 years of rich experience. Avid quizzers eagerly await this event, which has now gained national significance. In the 2019 edition, we had participants from Patna, Bengaluru, and Chennai. This year, we were excited to welcome a team from Hyderabad.” Quiz master Abhijit Banerjee, fondly known as Abu-Da, added, “This series aims to revive the classical quizzing tradition in the city, and people look forward to it because of its unique appeal. Many participants are champions at both national and international levels. This is not an ordinary quiz—it's a serious, national-level competition. However, all are encouraged to participate and gain experience.”
