“We performed classical and semi-classical songs to focus on all audiences. The response was amazing. Audiences came up to us and told us that it was rare to hear such concerts in public venues,” said T Kalaimagan, who performed along with M Karthikeyan on the keyboard and E Martin on the tabla. Chanderan, who performed as part of Kizhakkuvaasi, noted that the indie Tamil music scene is in its nascent stage in Chennai. “It was a great opportunity,” said Chanderan, who performed with Solomon (on the keyboard) and Goel Wesley (on the drums). Sarthak Tiwari, who performed as part of the Thamizh Hip Hop Underground, added, “Our intention was to spread the importance of the five elements of hip-hop — graffiti, DJing, beatboxing, dancing and rapping — among audiences.
