Celebrating the German way!

Germany celebrated the 19th anniversary of its reunification and the who���s who of the city gathered to celebrate the day.
Diplomats and well-wishers were sprucely turned out for the evening that started with a moving speech by Hans-Burkhard Sauerteig, Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Chennai. It was also a day to remember people who have contributed to the development of society.Sister Angela of St Thomas Hospital, Chetput and Jochen Tewes were awarded the Federal Cross of Merit. While Jochen Tewes is a mechanical engineer from Germany, who came to India in 1973, sister Angela has been involved with social work for about 30 years. Guests socialised over delicious food and cocktails and were even delighted to pose for the lensman.
