They welcomed Dr Michael Koehler,his Leipzig Philharmonic Orchestra and Kavita Krishnamurthy on stage with athunderous round of applause. The programme started with a Gayathri mantrarecital by Kavita Krishnamurthy along with the 60-member orchestra. Then followed the symphony composed by Russian composer Tchaikovsky. Basedon the theme destiny, it brought out the different moods. Beginning with themood of dejection, it went on to depict confusion, belief and finally thetriumph. The Raghupathi Raghava... was asoul-stirring rendition. She sang Achamille.... written by Bharathiyar beginningwith an aalap. The piece was written in four languages ��� Sanskrit, Hindi,Bengali and Tamil. The final piece was Shanthi Priya, which was played byL Subramaniam and his son Ambi. Celebrities and diplomats were present in theaudience. Actor Vivekh came to enjoy the evening with his family.
