The students of Dr Ambedkar Institute of Hotel Management, Catering and Technology (AIHM), Sector 42, celebrated World Tourism Day on Thursday. In keeping with the theme ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’, the students visited various places in Chandigarh, including Inter-Sate Bus Stand in Sector 43, railway station, Rock Garden, and Capitol Complex, met tourists over there and welcomed them with roses.
While the Tourism Day celebrations kicked off on a grand note, the students of hospitality profession took part in run for tourism at the Sukhna Lake. The institute also organised various competitions in which students from the other colleges also took part. There was flower arrangement competition besides poster and Rangoli making. Also, cake demonstration by institute’s faculty member, chef Bhanu Sharma was held on the occasion.
