Workshop on women's safety

More than 50 investigators attached with various units of the Chandigarh police took part in a workshop on women safety. The five-day event, which started on Monday, is going on at the RTC in Sector 26. The faculty members taking part in the event includes Mahavir Singh, SLSA-cum-additional district and session judge. He delivered a lecture on the topic of sexual assault cases under IPC and POCSO Act. Later, Mahima, a research scholar at Judicial Academy, Sector 43 delivered a lecture on overview of POCSO Act along with its latest amendments. Anshul Sharma from the office of director social welfare also delivered a lecture on the topic of sexual harassment at work place and gender sensitization.
