Weeklong celebrations to mark Gandhi Jayanti

here organised a week-long celebration, which ended on Tuesday on the occasion of 149th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. If the celebrations saw cleanliness

drive

, followed by cleaning of the pool area around Gandhi Bhawan, there was on the spot essay writing and painting competition too. Several events on different days attracted a lot of people and students who took part to make the event a success.
Special lectures titled, “Women Atrocities a Fastest Growing Menace Towards Healthy Society” (by Dr Charanpreet Singh) and “Awareness on Breast Cancer” (by Dr. Bittu Safeena Sandhu), an entrepreneur, poet, counsellor and a social worker, were also delivered on the occasion. The chairperson of the department, also an honorary director of Gandhi Bhawan, Dr. Ashu Pasricha said that the values, thoughts and principles espoused by Gandhiji can guide our planet towards a better future.
